CSR project of EDRT assigned to SRFCT

The EDRT( Endocrinology & Diabetes Research Trust) Bangalore which is a reputed Trust with many renowned specialists attached to it, assigned SRI RAMANA FREE CLINIC TRUST(SRFCT) the task of identifying deserving poor school children free education material. It was a CSR project(Corporate Social Responsibility) of EDRT ,to a budget of Rs 12 lakhs from them during the year 2012-13.No doubt it was a tough task which SRFCT successfully completed it with the help of DDPI ( Deputy Director of Public Instruction Bangalore Rural District. SRFCT distributed 4555 geometry boxes, 2998 English-English-Kannada Dictionaries to the girl students of Devanahalli, Hoskote, Dodballapura,Nelamangala Taluks and also model question papers for SSLC prelim to about 18000 students . During this process it was brought to the notice of the Trust that about 12000 students were diagnosed with dental problems by the doctors under Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya program of the Govt of Karnataka. A sample survey screening was held at Tubagere cluster comprising of 660 identified children and the fact was confirmed.To combat this problem a joint meet comprising of a few Dental colleges was held during Feb 2013 under the auspices of MSRDC( MSRamaiah Dental College).  The   M.O.U has been signed between SRFCT, Dept of Education Bangalore Rural District, and MSRDC.  The work has started with Devanahalli taluk with training of 120 teachers on Dental health education who would go to the interior places and train the teachers to carry on the project. A short film on the awareness of Dental care is made. Soon the treatment program would start periodically at the site. It is going to be an expanding task involving more Dental Colleges and Taluks.
